I use Rainbow Words and I can't say enough good things about it! I taught 6 words per week and used my district's recommended words. By the end of the year my kids knew more than 36 words. I like the way Rainbow Words organizes the words and makes it more manageable and provides a visual for both teacher and kids. Now during word work time each student has their own ring of color coded sight word cards (see picture below) and I know that they are working on the words that they should be. It’s also easy enough for the kids to follow too, they always know which color they are working on.
